Located in west of the main island, It is a place still very rural, separated from Honsu by the Inland Sea of Japan Setonaikai (\u702c \u6238 \u5185\u6d77)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kyushu<\/strong> in the South (Kagoshima, Fukuoka, Nagasaki)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shikoku est la plus petite de ces 4 \u00eeles d\u2019une superficie d\u2019environ 19000 m\u00b2 et d\u2019une population estim\u00e9e \u00e0 4 millions d\u2019habitants. La densit\u00e9 est d\u2019ailleurs bien plus faible que la moyenne nationale : 205 habitants par m\u00b2 contre 350 pour le Japon et m\u00eame 387 pour l\u2019\u00eele principale Honshu.<br \/>\nShikoku en Japonais signifie les 4 (\u2018\u56db). pays (\u56fd). En effet les 4 provinces de Shikoku de l\u2019\u00e9poque f\u00e9odale japonaise se sont transform\u00e9es en 4 pr\u00e9fectures :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La province d\u2019Iyo est devenue pr\u00e9fecture d\u2019Ehime\u00a0et sa capitale est Matsuyama<\/li>\n<li>Celle de Sanuki ( C\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour ses Udon ) est devenue Kagawa et sa capitale Takamatsu<\/li>\n<li>Celle de Tosa ( d\u2019o\u00f9 est originaire le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre\u00a0Sakamoto Ryoma) est devenue Kochi<\/li>\n<li>Et enfin la province de Awa est devenue pr\u00e9fecture de Tokushima.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Evidemment Shikoku est c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour son p\u00e8lerinage des 88 temples,et ces 1170 kilom\u00e8tres ( Si l\u2019on ne viste que les temples principaux).
