Jūraku-ji Temple is the seventh of the 88 temples of the Shikoku pilgrimage. Jūraku-ji means Temple of Ten Joys.
The temple has a large Shukubo, Attention you have to confirm booking the same day Dinner is served at 18:00 and breakfast at 7:00. You can attend religious service at 6:30 in the morning.
Near the main hall, there is a statue of Jizō bosatsu that is famous for curing eye problems or diseases.

Temple history :
The Jūraku-ji temple was founded by Kōbō-Daishi in the early 9th century (806) near a sacred tree whose thickness is more than 110 cm. He also carved the main deity of the temple, Amida Nyorai. Like many of the 88 temples of the Shikoku pilgrimage, it was destroyed by fire during the 16th century wars. At that time the temple was larger and about 3 km from the current location. The main building of the temple (Hondo) was rebuilt in the Meiji era but was destroyed again in 1992.
