Kugiri-uchi
Walking the pilgrimage in sections
Pilgrimagereviewed, to be validated
Kugiri-uchi (区切り打ち) means doing the pilgrimage one section at a time. Many Japanese pilgrims take several years to complete the entire Shikoku circuit, primarily because taking extended vacation time is difficult. In principle, each new stage begins at the last temple visited on the previous trip.
